Thirteen years ago Oliver’s father died in a battle against Red Line, the nasty dragon that plagued Aardland. My review is based on the Kindle version. This was a very entertaining first book by Bruce Leslie. It is fun, fast-paced and the characters are endearing. It reminded me of some of the early Dragonlance novels, though much more modest in scope. My only critique, and it's minor and does not detract from the story telling, is that fantasy fiction books of this nature usually have maps and this one does not. I look forward to reading Mr. Leslie's next foray, which I think is about a manticore. If you know what kind of creature a manticore is, I think you'd enjoy Dragon in the Needles.Product details

Funny, well written and full of adventure. It's a humdinger!
Heidi says this book is good fun, but could have used some mention of chowder buckets and short-legged pants. I would give it a strong Dick Grayson.
This is a great book for younger readers that like fantasy. It is fast paced and has very likable characters. I enjoyed spending a few hours in this simple but fun story.
This is a fun, easy to read book. The story is funny and easy to follow. This coming from someone who tried reading GOT, too many people to keep up with. I have enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. I can't wait to read the next book.
Just purchased this book and completed it in a single sitting. A great read with plenty of laughs and even some heartbreak. Remember do not be a "mule thief."
